The Importance of Annual Maintenance
Annual maintenance can extend the life of your heating and cooling equipment. Central cooling and heating systems generally last 15 to 18 years – with manufacturer recommended maintenance. Check out your equipment warranty and you will likely find that routine maintenance is required by the manufacturer as a part of the warranty agreement – equipment failures due to lack of maintenance are not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

According to the Energy Star Action Guide, to improve the performance of heating and cooling equipment, homeowners should have their systems serviced annually by a licensed contractor, and remember to clean or replace air filters regularly.

Although regular checkups will not absolutely guarantee that your equipment will work perfectly throughout the season, it can reveal the small problems that can lead to major problems if left unattended.
